No.....not a miracle swing cure lol

Went down the (fairly) local range tonight which has been undergoing a fair bit of building work recently, both to the bar areas and ground works on the range itself, though what with dark nights etc its been difficult to figure out exactly what.

Tonight all becomes clear as the first part of the extension was open and new owners Snainton Golf have a new pro shop in the first part of the extension, full of shiney gear - gulp!

Not only that but pinned to the notice board are the plans and architects impression for the rest of the development, including 2 tier range, 9 hole pitch and putt, another shorter 9 hole course?? and refurbished bar areas :D

Now there's an incentive to get more range time in, but must remember to leave the wallet at home!

I presume you're talking about National Ave? If not, I've missed it!

I didn't realise Snainton Golf had taken it over. Should be some competitive pricing in the area now.

God knows where you'd fit 9 holes in. The old pitch and putt bit there could be quite dangerous with some of the hackers who played on there.

I popped in there on Saturday as there were just starting to stock up the shop and it should be good once it's finished. It needed sorting out as it was a bit of a dump.

Better matts than Cottingham though, I'll say that.

Now that would be no fun at all Whereditgo. :( :D

On a serious note, I wish there was something similar down this way. It might encourage me to practice. :) :)

Golfmmad.

Trust me, it's not that good. But they are spending some money on it after years and years of neglect.

It still got wet hitting balls in a bay on Saturday morning because of the bloody holes in the roof. :(

Last time I was there I was getting snowed on!! :D but seriously, the plans include for complete new 2 tier range, the 9 hole will obviously be a pitch and putt, not sure how much land there is to the left of the range which is where they show it.

I think people will be bashing them over the fences if they add a second tier there!

Shop is well stocked and sorted now too!

Excellent, I was in there on Saturday watching Dean breaking some guy's heart who'd bought a brand new set of Ping i15s (with graphite shafts oddly) for £175 - only to be told they were fake, surprise, surprise!

Only been to Cott. once, I thought it was that poor I have never been back, nice course to play though!

It's on my way to Beverley so handy for a quick 10-20 ball warm up. It's really come a long way since it opened and is quite a challenge. I like it but it gets played to death and is a pain to get a tee time there.

Did I read on another post you play the course on the Westwood? Whats that like? I've driven (auto) through it many, many times but never thought of playing it.

I do. I've always liked it. It's quite similar to a links course in many ways and well worth a visit. If you ever fancy a game, just drop me a pm.
