The golf swing done well looks effortless and simple. However, it is an incredibly complicated movement that only few really master. As a result, there is no end of golf instruction available in all manner of different media. This is often overwhelming, and can sometimes only add to the problems that us amateurs are trying to resolve.
For me, the best tips are the simplest ones. Eg the 'one-two' count really does improve tempo and consistency.....and all it requires is the ability to count to two!
This long-windedness brings me to my question - what are the tips that have best helped your game?

Dont know if I'm allowed 3, but here we go
My best 3 tips would be
1. What goes back goes back together, what comes down comes down together (Butch)
2.The 150yrd markers are normally to the middle which means roughly 165yds to the back (Graham Cowley)
3. Hit it as hard as you can, but no harder (my Dad) :)

Simplest tip I was given was to think of the tempo of a golf swing like the tempo when swinging a tennis raquet, if you rush back and forwards with one of those you miss the ball or fluff the shot so aim for a similar tempo with a golf club, easy back and accellerate through

Understand your "path" through impact. Read your divots, ask yourself "where did that ball start?"

I can't bear seeing habitual slicers hitting hundreds of balls in practice with everyone STILL starting left....

"Learn the math".......

TEMPO ....

... NOT ....

TEMPER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love it I love it I love it, This may just be the best bit of advice I have picked up so far. This kept my drives bombing this week!
