+6 with a back 9 tells me you should be looking to be off less than 10! You have managed to maintain 3 under in 9 holes. With improved consistency you could be a lot less.

Again though, your +6 would have beat those scores.

But mine was a bounce game
Anyway we are all allowed one blazing round a year,
it's what keep us coming back...correct ?

Lost on countback in one medal, never threatened the leaders since :mmm:

I play off 5 and my best medal round is +1.

In regards to what I am capable of, its has to be +1 as its the best I've done. The proof is in the pudding.

I think this is where the confusion occurs for most (and I'm not suggesting you are really confused here).

To play to +1 you need to be able to either play to +1 everytime you go out, or to play to a range of scores in the 3 to +4 (for example and for simplicity) range with the appropriate frequency.

According to HDID the winner was off 14 and came down to 12 as a result.

My fault
Meant to post this one. Took two photos as one is blurred

Handicap - 11.5
Best Comp Round - 74
Capable Handicap - Just now I'd say 6 - In two years when I grow more scratch, possibly +x...

Capable of Shooting - Under Par - Been close, and finished with two doubles etc.

I'm off 19 and my best ever round was last Wednesday, I shot a 82 (par 71)

Just one of them days, play was slow due to the heat which always works in my favour, I had 5 pars and 3 birdies, two chipping off of the green and one 3 foot putt.

Today played and shot a 87 and could had done so much better if the putter would have behaved.

Both rounds were non comp, but putted out all holes so very happy with the scores, just goes to show what a bunch of lessons can do for your game, hitting the irons a dream now ( well for someone off 19 )

Have agreed to put in 3 cards this week, playing again tomorrow then the club secretary will adjust my handicap, as I thought it would be unfair playing off 19 in a comp.

Doesn't make sense - he can't adjust your handicap based on 3 cards like that. By all means put in supplemental cards rather than playing in comps if that's how you feel (and why didnt you sign in for the recent rounds you outlined?)but the whole idea is to play Q comps to get your handicap adjusted!

My Handicap is 9
My best round is 75 +6 I shot that round while playing off 15 in a bounce game in which we putted out.
My best competition score is 76 +7 shot 2 weeks ago.
What am I capable of? Honestly 4/5 I think is attainable.

For the past 2 years I have been considered a bandit as I have dropped from 17 to 9.

The thing is I have shot under my handicap four times since dropping to 9, but im not a bandit anymore im a single figure golfer and im just playing good golf according to those who label you, something I find quite funny.

We have a guy at our club who reached the final of the Welsh Amateur last year and has been in college in the states for the past 3 years, he was playing off +2 at the time and shot 64(-5) for a net 66(-3) in a board comp. He lost by 1 shot to 28 handicapper who had the day of his life and shot net 65. No bandit labels were thrown around and it was genuinely a wonderful and humbling moment.

Didn't explain myself well, so will try again.

My h/c is 19 i as I don't play a lot of comps, due to the fact I don't think I'm good enough. Been having a good few lessons which have worked wonders for my game and Im now shooting below my h/c.

The three cards I'm putting in are supplemental cards and I will be using my last two (82,87) plus what ever I shoot today, which should see my h/c drop, then once I get a true h/c to how I'm playing now I will then play in the odd comp.

Hope that all makes sense

Byvthe rules, you can't devide after the round to use those 2 for handicap...

Sorry, where did I say I only decided to hand then in afterwards?

It was decided before I started the first two rounds that I would be putting in the 3 cards this week, both cards were signed by a fellow member, I putted out every hole so they could be used and today's card will be no different, I will putt out and get it signed.

That's what I thought. Doesn't it have to be declared before play that you a putting in a supplementary card. I'm sure at ours a book has to be signed beforehand saying that's what you are doing. Cards also have to be handed in straight after the round.

My best stableford score is 42 points, this was when I was rapidly improving, My best medal score was a couple of weeks ago gross 81 off 12, CSS was 74 so based on that I am capable of playing to 7, but as SSS is 72, I think a 9 handicap is more realistic.
