Best Finish in the Club Championsships

Come on then - let's have your best finish!
I know we have some winners on the forum.....

Mine is 3rd - 2 years running in the late 90's
We had 2 guys off 5 who won it between them 7 years on the bounce.
I was off 8 and missed a playoff by a shot or 2 both times...

I was 4th in 1976 at Reading. Shot two rounds of 76 playing off 8, but I was about 10 shots off the winner. Haven't played in one since.

Shame this is not a tennis forum.

I came 3rd in our Seniors Scratch Championship this year, and 4th in the Handicapped Seniors Championship. Both played concurrently. Unfortunately I am not eligible to play in our Club Scratch Championship, as the handicap limit is 9.4 or less, and I am off 11.

Won it twice at my home club and was 2nd in my other club's championship in 2013.

Won the gross 12 years ago and won the nett a few years ago, now at woodhall I have no chance so will find an open to play in this year.

i was 3rd in 2013 and 4th in 2012, qualified the two prev years as well but got beat in the first round of the matchplay.

Last year came out the blue. I'd been playing awful all year then shot the two best rounds of the year, by a long way, in succession.

I was leader in the club house for a while about 4 shots clear. Didn't last
