Best driver ?

I was a late starter with my license. Now 26 and I've been driving 6 years. Owned 4 cars, all have been sporty hatchbacks. I've not owned a car under 2.0L. No speeding tickets or crashes, not that I've had really close calls.
First 2 years of my license I did 100k miles in a work van. Still amazed I escaped with zero tickets or accidents. I now only do about 15k miles P/A.

I drive like a nutter when I am on my own, I take every gap I can, I speed whenever I can and overtake whenever I can. I have never had an accident or speeding fine or points. I consider myself to be very safe, very in control and very aware of the road conditions and other obstructions around me. I expect never to have an accident or speeding fine. It is about being a confident driver. Because you see the road is wet or icy does not mean its time to start using the brake a lot, the opposite is the case. We need more confidence on the roads, the dangerous drivers are the scared ones.

For the record I am aware that some of my attitude is stupid, reckless and childish but it is how I feel, I am a racer but not an idiot. If anyone else is in the car with me I drive carefully. I am the best driver I know.

Car not golf !

Just been looking at my car insurance renewal and I realise I have been driving since 1977, 35 years in total, and have never had an accident or claim on my car insurance. Not a great return on my car insurance premiums but not a bad record.

Anyone out there come close, or even beat me ?

I know plenty of old people who have never had any accidents. Mind you they cause about 2 a week.....;) Oh no, the road bends by 10 degrees, therefore the council have put up 3 black and white chevron signs to tell people to slow down, so I best slow down to 10mph to get round this slight bend in the road

Who are you calling old. My Morris Minor doesn't do much more than 10 mph down hill, let alone around a corner.;)

Best driver? Clearly not the guy in the Porsche on the news last night.

Oh sorry, not that type of driver...............

You might not have had an accident, (yet), but if you look in your mirror I bet it is carnage behind you.

Because of vehicle adaptation business I run I've driven everything from lada's for ferrari's. passed 13 years ago, personally owned 3 cars and the current the slowest as ford cmax 1.6 family taxi. I do give each car I try the beans but its knowing when and where to play.

The most fun I've had was a 12 month old Nissan GTR (subtle body kit, specialist tuned and just ran in) when a BMW M3 wanted to play.A set of lights, two lanes leading to single lane with 200 yards then down a country lane and the guy pulled along side, wound his window down, looked over and revved the nuts off his M3. I discreetly engaged launch control and when the lights changed lost him in the rear view mirror. I know the owner and he is a regular punter, so knew i was ok to play and he was as proud as punch when i told him just how good his car was. I hate BMW and Merc drivers

Passed my test first time in September 1979. I've only had one accident in 1981 when I rear ended a car full of girls in Glasgow city centre.
An interesting, but ultimately fruitless and expensive, way of getting a lassies phone number.
