Best Christmas Song ever?

Fairy tale of New York!!!! What, nay lad that is not a Christmas song it is a dirge. Where is the hope, joy and fun in that? The best Christmas song is Step into Christmas Elton John.

Depends on my mood but The Pogues (not forgetting Kirsty MacColl) Fairytale of New York is always brilliant. Also like Greg Lake's I Believe In Father Christmas, Happy Christmas (War is Over), Stop the Calvary...I like lots of them in fact!

Darkness, Christmas Time! Any song that manages to get a bell end and a ring piece in the words deserves an award:D
Failing that I love Bruce Springsteens live version of santa claus is coming to town

Not really the best song that Half Man Half Biscuit ever did, but just for the title alone it has to be up there:

All I Want for Christmas is a Dukla Prague Away Kit

In the Bleak Midwinter by Christina Rossetti - to the Harold Darke setting (a proper Christmas 'song' rather most of what we've had over the last 50 odd years - with the exception of Slade and Greg Lake)

Band Aid

Because of the sentiment, the money it raised, what it did for awareness, the way so many huge egos just dropped everything to be a part of it, the Live Aid concerts that came on the back of it, everything really.

Nothing else even comes close.
