Ben Stokes at my local

Went to my local range the other day & there was Ben stokes having a Callaway club fitting & being photographed & interviewed by the Daily Mail. They had him on the launch monitor & he was hitting his 7 iron 220 yards. He changed to the Rescue & that was going 270. The boss of the range asked him if he would leave the Driver in the bag because the range isn't long enough.

Here he is with my mate Chris, who runs the Sunderland Golf Centre.

Quite often gets round our course at Chester le street

Played behind me and Beezerk last summer....I was playing my shot greenside on our 350 yard 3rd hole....and seconds later his drive comes trundling down about 20 yards short of the green!

Close face, have forearms like Popeye.

My BiL played with him at a corporate day a couple of years ago. He mentioned the ridiculous distances he was hitting it. Powerful lad, good timing. Just like his batting.

What does he play off

I think he plays off early teens. A pro at High Legh (Mike Donald) gives both him and Joss Butler lessons. He says stokes is a machine. 300+ easily with each Drive, but, he really sprays it too. Just super strong whilst at the same time being very flexible . An athlete of the highest order.

Have at least 5 members of Somerset County Cricket club at ours. They all seem to hit it a mile. M Trescothick gives it a fair whack and plays off 5

Yup. Ex-cricketers, me included (!), play with late wrists giving lots of lag. I think...

I think that Sunderland centre is like the hub for NE golf at times! haha I've bought from there before - theres an AG there.

I know a lot of the Local celebs, sports people play a lot of there golf in durham. Botham is at darlo, Jordan pickford at CLS, Lee Cattermole at ramside. Nail Quinn is honorary member at my club brancepeth castle - (can't remember the last time he was there like)
not to mention Lee westwood is the pro at close house and Graeme storm at Rockclife hall.
