been to AG for 3 wood and very happy

Hi Mark what a fantastic story you seem very excited to have purcased a new club and cant wait to use it. As i have stated before i work for ag and have the pleasure of over seeing us helping thousands of passionate golfers like yourself every week. Can i just clarify a few things that might make it easier for logic to prevail regarding a few of the more doubting contributers to this thread. your club head speed? what you would normally expect to hit a 3 wood in calm conditions total distance? what type of ball you used could also be a factor? good luck with the 3 wood they do go very long those stage 2s

Bloody hell mate your abit late. You should have saved the AG name on here a long time ago. Personally I prefer AG over many of the other outlets any day and I've got a Vokey SM4 wedge on its way as we speak price matched @ £76 which is a great price. You should check here more often though as AG does receive a few bashings.

As for the launch monitors I stand by my guns... They are rigged and not just the ones in AG stores.

Hi thats great that you enjoy shopping with us I know we can take a bashing on the forum it kinda comes with the territory when you are by so far the biggest player in an industry unfortunatly we wont always get it right and its important that we know whats wrong and how to fix it. Im an avid goler myself so love the forum and reading the views and the reviews on all things golf not just ag related.
thank you for commenting.

very impressed with the service in your Preston store the other day, Liam was excellent. Has the chain been promoting better customer service standards over the last year as the recent visit was a marked improvement over previous visits 3-4 years ago.

I notice you haven't denied the fact your monitors are rigged? Not that anyone would believe you if you did deny it :D

suppose it just terminology really but i don't believe the monitors are rigged in AG or anywhere else it's just that they are set favourably high altitude wind behind hot sunny day 30deg etc. Giving far greater distance than you would normally get to
Give a feel good factor. Bit like manufacturers marking driver lofts down.

Not disputing any distances or settings but, in my experience, I've never been able to consistently match launch monitor distances in the real world - Never!

So rigged then?

I agree that they would be with those settings for anywhere but their Denver outlet!

Anything above sea level in the UK is inherently false, which I associate with 'rigged'

However, I have yet to find one set at anything above the locations altitude in AG, or as high as 30 degrees temperature!

The real problem with using these is that people (1) aren't going to loose a ball so swing without fear (2) have people watching them so don't want to look stupid so swing within themselves (3) are interested in what the club can do so concentrate on hitting the ball with the clubhead.

When they get on the course it's these conditions that change! They become intent on showing what they can do with the club whilst their concious and sub-concious fight it out about whether they can clear the water and avoid a hook!

The RBZ are definitely long though, I hit my best drive on the course yesterday on a flat par 4 of 347 yards and i put the ball mid fairway no further than 50 yards to the pin. Iv never hit a wood well, although be interesting to see what i could do with the matching RBZ 3wood. Alot of the tees at my club Iv been playing my 4iron off the tee as if i mess my driver I know the ball is lost, would be nice to have a bit more oomf but still keep the control on those certain tees.
