Is there anything worse?
shoot a 70 on proper greens being used for the first time in months and come second......

Driver and putter working well which is surprising as far as the putting is concerned, Im not long changed to the short backswing and long follow through putting and wasnt expecting it to pay dividends so quickly (I am not a bad putter in the first place, just looking to improve).
left two on the lip but holed a lot more, three pitches that stopped dead on the fringe of the greens cost me a couple of shots too.
Isnt it always the way that a bad round couldnt have gotten any worse but a good round has so much room for improvement!
Any other frustrated "second placed winners" out there this week?

Hmmmmm.... a tough one.
Shooting 70 off a 9 handicap, what could be worse...... 80 perhaps? :D

Congrats on a great round, what did you win for second?

Couple of quid and winter society handicap cut to 5 now, I think they are onto me! haha.
I also get a mention in the local rag as an also ran, sweet! :(

I won on countback two weeks ago so i was happy but i feel your frustration, just goes to show a strong finish is better than a fast start.
I played each nine to +1 gross losing basically to handicap, I'll not argue with that point, it is bloody frustrating though.
Hey ho, there is always next week, isn't that right chaps!

The first competition I played at my new club in May was the clubs Open Competition. Had a net 68 and tied for 1st but ended up finishing 4th on countback and in case you are wondering no the fact that I finished 5,5,5,5,5 which is 6 over didn't eat me up inside
