Any of you that have read my comments previously will know that I'm new to the game, started last September, and I'm currently going through a course of lessons, 3 down 3 to go.

Nothing unusual there, so why should I be afraid?

Well, tomorrow morning I'm playing on a 'proper' course for the first time with two fellow forum members for the first time (Aztecs27 & Swinger). Previously I've only played on 9 hole pay & play courses (Brickhampton, Shipton, Sherdons). Add to that it is forecasted to be the coldest weather so far this year with the chance of snow.

But then I think, hang on I'm under no pressure here, I'm the new 'boy' in town, if I cock up then that's just down to me being a beginner so I'm just doing what's expected of me. But, if I do ok and they cock up, think of the glory that I can bask in for a while.

So the message is - Aztecs27 & Swinger, be afraid, be very afraid! :whoo::whistle:

Despite the fact that there's definite risk of frostbite, I'm massively looking forward to it. Partly because I haven't played in a month and partly because I can't wait to see Steve's Yellow toy!

I'm not expecting much scoring wise as firing into frozen greens as we all know is a lottery but looking forward to giving the new big stick a whirl on somewhere other than the range. I'm also looking forward to the bacon sandwich and pot of tea when we get there in the morning.

It'll be a good craic for sure. Current forecast looks dry but cold directly over the course.

I will warn you, it's never NOT windy, so expect a bit of breeze, but nothing too bad tomorrow.

Achilles feeling better then mate?

Hope you have an enjoyable game, similar boat for me as i'm meeting up with a society for the first time tomorrow & have not hit a ball in a month so will no doubt have anxious thoughts on the 1st tee (this will actually be a first competitive game in a long time too so I guess I may need a couple of lemonades first to settle the swing)

Good luck HDA! you sound like my bandit mates though, talking up injuries etc then bringing 40+ points home!!

Enjoy it! thats the main thing!
