BBC Coverage - Saturday. Another moan...

If it was that bad you could turn the sound off, I dont mind it. I am primarily watching it for its footage rather than the quality of commentary, that said I have watched it and other footy matches online in all sorts of languages commentating. :D
If DC wasnt leading would I still be watching? Absolutely, the Open Championship is the pinnacle of Golf and anyone who wins it, did so beating the cream of world golf.

I have no complaints about the footage or commentary as my original complaint related to the populist garbage that they broadcast aside from the live footage. I think that once the golf starts, everything is fine.

Although in saying that, I don't like Hazel or Cotter. I just can't understand what they are on about with that ethnic accent that they have. Just random sounds peppered with references to shortbread, haggis and thistles. I can't make any sense of it. :o :D Fortunately Allis and Brown rescue the situation with their well informed and articulate observations.

That said, I can't wait for tomorrow. It would be just amazing if DC were to win. I will be glued to the TV and praying that he can do it. If he hits the ball like he did today then he will be looking very good for a win....

I think the BBC assume that the public like all these extra things because at the moment they are the best thing about the F1 on the BBC, watching Coulthard,Jordan and Co. amuse us for 30 mins or so before the race and the grid walk is usually a bit of a giggle too.

Then we can all have a snooze from laps 10-45 before waking up to see the last few laps and Vettel win again.

It works for F1 but it does not work for golf!! WAKE UP BBC!!!

It also works for tennis because the action is quick and in brief bursts - no time for a lot of drivel about old Bert being 100 and still playing or how Fowler and McIlroy should go to a tailor in Farnham and get their trousers altered (all PA - he will be getting cakes next!)

The pace is slow but there are more than half a dozen players round the course. Mind you in that it's no different to watching US coverage.

Cant understand what all the fuss is about :Das we get the World feed down here, NZ,so when the Beeb are doing their arty farty stuff we just carry on with the action , result.

As for the commentators each to their own but I'm more than happy with their ruminating

I like the coverage and particularly Mr Alliss and Wayne Gradys commentary, Ken Browns on course insights are interesting also.

However, the monotone ramblings of Maureen ? Are very offputting, yesterday she said before one of DC 's putts "I can see no break on this putt at all" camera then cut to behind the line to see DC's ball take a banana borrow before narrowly missing. Don't like the tall on course guy either - why does he always shout- it's as if he's at an open air music festival. They both seem to be hired to appeal to the young and women.

I will of course be glued today and will moan at Maureen and tall guy every time they appear- well, it would be rude not to.

And when Darren was faced with a relatively easy putt she warned against players reading too much into the breaks and he promptly stuffed it right .

15 all :D

think this post needs to be moved to the Dear points of veiw section" its golf on the BBC what do you expect always been the same always will, , as if 9 hours of golf coverage a day isnt enough ,its not going to get interesting until today anyway, bet there wont be anyone moaning about the coverage today, if there is you need to get out more, sit back have a beer and enjoy it
