BBC. Couldn't they have waited.

Oh, Did they announce this. I went upstairs after the final putt then came down expecting the presentation only to find the Rugby on.

Sorry for the rant:o

They did announce earlier that they would switch to the rugby as soon as the playoff had finished.
It was only a presentation after all..

I think Hazel might have mentioned it briefly towards the end of the main broadcast, but it was all such a rush before the credits rolled.

have to say that we as golfers would get annoyed at this but on the other hand, imagine if you were a rugby league fan and you had to watch a golf presentation instead of the build up to your team's semi final....

for the first time I was dissapointed in the BBC coverage, I didnt see the world #1 play at all, nor did they show any scores after the first 10, instead we watch the leaders doing EVERYTHING......and by that I mean walk to their putt, line it up from all angles, pick up bits of debris, make the putt then pick it out, walk to bag, hand caddy club, walk to next hole blah blah blah looked like only 6 people playing with that coverage.

Please make the Open better

Why would you want to see the world no 1 if he's not featuring? I get annoyed with sky as they tend to focus on one or two particular groups even if they are 4 or 5 shots of the pace at the expense of showing a mix of players who we might not know.
I think I heard P Allis say that Marc Warren has never won anything...anyone else hear that? He's won twice on the ET.
Allis' rambling style might suit some but it's lost it's appeal for me.

Thoroughly enjoyed the commercial free coverage...

Shame the golf today was nothing special...

Looks a superb course...

This.
After watching golf on Sky every week with adverts every 5 minuites, this was a welcome break.
Think I have seen the Callaway driver being hit over the Vegas fountain a million times!

Why would you want to see the world no 1 if he's not featuring?

erm because he's world #1 and I had no idea how he was playing that day, just let us know and see why he's out of contention, not much to ask is it really?

I was out working on my game. Seems I missed a decent finish but to be honest having sat through the first 45 minutes I'd had enough. I finally think Alliss has had his time and there is no-one that comes close to filling the void he'll leave, certainly from the BBC's current line up

Enjoyed the absence of commercials but the commentary and presentation team were poor. Will somebody please do TV coverage of golf a favour and shoot Ken Brown! The rest were almost as bad and sadly I agree with the comments that Peter Allis has at last passed his sell-by date.

I also found the lack of coverage of any but the first half dozen annoying but assumed the Beeb were as usual on a restricted budget and so had few cameras available. The lack of a leaderboard for any outside the top 10 or 12 was very frustrating.

I just hope dear old Auntie Beeb will up their game for the Open.
