Base Layers

Has anyone got any good recommendations for decent base layers. I know they can get quite pricey and I dont want to pay too much but I also dont want to buy something that wont benefit me.

Any brands or sites with good deals would be great.

I got a long sleeve Nike base layer from JJB sports, thats spot on and wasnt too costly

Thats cheap!!!

Ping ones at my pro shop are £30. Can you remember where you got them.

I have an adidas climacool one it is for football really but does the job as it is also windproof. It is a bit costly but can't remember how much it was because i have had it for roughly 3 years

Argos do both Puma and Adidas for around £22-24 for long sleeve ones.

I have a long sleve under armour, and can totally recommend it. It's surprising how warm it keeps you.

don't know if you have dunnes stores in england but they do one for around a tenner as do penneys and they are really no different fron my cantbuary one

I was thinking of getting a under armour or canterbury one but I wasnt sure if they are worth the price.

I've got a few and wear them summer and winter. They are quite tight and I tend to overswing so I find they provide a little extra resistance which helps keep that fault under control.

I've got the Nike pro ones mainly and picked the up quite cheap from Sports Direct - just over £10 if I recall correctly.

I use the under armour ones and totally recommend them. Shop around on the interweb as I'm sure they can be picked up pretty cheaply especially as winter is nearly over

I use one from M&S - its a climacool type and its great. Not much more than a tenner when I got mine a year ago.

I use a Mizuno one for golf, but the white thermals I use for work are just as good.

I use a Helley Hansen 'Warm' long-sleeve one and it keeps my poor old bones nice 'n toasty. Not cheap at about 40quid but very effective and it was a pressie from the wife anyway! Tried one of these thin stretchy vests and found it worse than useless, a struggle to get in to it was so tight and I actually felt colder, especially in the wind.
