Hi Everyone,

I have a golf weekend booked for next weekend (Weather permitting) at Barnham Broomes Golf course. I think we have one round on each course there, has any one else played there?

Just wondered if anyone had any reviews - I have checked the other forum section but doesn't look like it has been reviewed.......
Thanks

Hi, do you mean Barnham Broom near Norwich? If so I have played there many times and the courses there are usually both challenging and well maintained, if a little busy. Although I have only played there in the summer months so I can't comment on the Winter conditions or if it gets busy at this time of year.

Both the Hill and Valley courses will give you a good game. Barnham is well run and maintained but they are usually quick to protect the course and bring in winter greens and tees. Hopefully the soggy ground conditions will dry ouy a bit by the weekend but it may be worth your while checking that the course is playable before you travel.

Some good holes on both courses and a good test of golf. However I live 10 mins up the road and I cant see them being in very good condition as we're snowed in and the forecast is for bad frosts and more snow all week. I would defo check before making the journay

One of my favourite courses in the area.

The course has some intersting and challenging holes while the hotel and bar does some excellent food. Perfect for a society weekend away.

Would have no idea about the condition of the course at the moment however.

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for all your replies and info - fingers crossed we can get some game time in as it sounds like a great course.
We got a good deal which included accomodation, dinner and unlimited golf, but I guess you take your chances when you play at this time of the year...... :D

Theyre certainly not great courses by any means but the valley is the better of the two. Well known in the area as being very slow rounds of up to 5 hours cos you usually get the hotel guests hacking it around and knobbing about.

Not one to join as the guests are given precedence over the members in most instances.

My father-in-law was a founder member and my wife remembers going and picking up stones as a little girl donkeys years ago now

As I said we've had sheds of snow here and there wont be a course open anywhere for quite some time I would think
