Now I consider myself as a bit of a Muso. Iv'e got vinyl on most shelves. My CD rack is overflowing, and my iTunes is outgrowing my computer. I'll listen to almost anything. From Country to Classic Rock. From Indie to Folk. BUT, there is a band that I just can't get into, no matter how hard I try, and I have tried...

Ladies and gentlemen, that band is........... Pink Floyd... I know they have a lot of love on here, but apart from the odd Gilmore guitar based track, I just can't like them...

How about you? Are there any bands that you want to like but struggle to?

I find a lot of bands like Pink Floyd suffer from problems with longevity and poor decisions when they do not know how to evolve musically. PF, Genesis, Rush all suffered when they left their prog rock roots and tried to adapt to changing musical styles.
One band I'd love to like but cannot abide is Iron Maiden.

THe Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, but most of all U2. Absolute garbage ..... in my humble opinion.
Saw a documentary on Steve Winwood last night, a proper musician. Bono, a proper nothing.

Slime.

Coldplay
U2 - mainly cos bonos a knob
Killers
All those jazz bands where they walk on and off stage leaving the drummer or pianist or sax or whatever to go on and endlessly improvising on a theme . Showing off basically - put your knob away for gods sake

Nickleback - Chad Kroger should be executed for crimes against music
Pink Floyd - everyone I know loves them but I cannot take to them
U2 - purely because of Bono and the guy who calls himself the Edge!
Radiohead- Again everyone loves them but they bore me
Adele - she gets a massive love in but I Think her next album should be called "songs to slit your wrists to"

Lot of love for U2 on here. Not a fan of them either. If Bono cares so much about Africa then give them some of his recently acquired billion pound fortune rather than asking me to.
Also Coldplay. Pretentious posh boys.

It is perfectly acceptable not to like these, most real music lovers dont like them either.

I would argue that Girls Aloud are one of the best 'pop' bands in this country in the last 10 years. Also a view shared by the music critic of The Times.

As for the OP question then Jimi Hendrix and The Doors. It's not quite that I want to like them as I think that concept is wrong, as you either like something or you don't. But I do think they are massively over rated and do absolutely nothing for me.

WHAT!!!!!!!! am I reading this and still awake? oh c'mon man there are bands that you give it right to like Oasis for being cack but there are bands that you are just in awe of the above two being just them two, without them there wouldn't be music as we know it now and that includes Girls Aloud.

ColdPlay, Radiohead and Elbow in the main...

Just don't get them - obviously most of the rest of the World does.......

Adele too....I find her songs very ordinary.

Really? As I am struggling to see the link between them and Girls Aloud and indeed the vast majority of music made today, so feel free to enlighten me.
