Just to note that there is stuff going around the twittersphere that suggests that nothing from plays, sales and downloads of Do the Know it's Christmas goes to the charity - that all takings go to Geldof, Ure and others. This is simply 100% UNTRUE, it is a complete LIE. And it is very dangerous for the charity.

I've just been listening to a very angry Geldof and Ure on JO'B refuting this 100% and stating categorically that they have never taken a penny from the proceeds of the song - and that 100% of takings continue go straight to the Band Aid charity - and this is easily verified through the Charities Commission and the Performaing Rights Society

So please - where you see any such cynicism or attack on Band Aid on Social media - it is NOT TRUE and please support the TRUTH - and post a response accordingly.

To be fair to BG, being good at publicity was probably more useful in the general scheme of things than penning the tune. Like ridgley in wham or Robbie in take that.
