Bad Injuries

OMG. Reminds me when I started refereeing. Guy went into a 50-50 and broke his leg. Not so bad except it was during the ambulance strike and we had to wait for the army to arrive as they were standing in. Not nice seeing him lying there with his leg at a nasty angle and in pain
 
He had pretty prompt surgery so he will probably be OK. The bone sticking out adds to the horror display of it all. In terms of the worst sports injury I think the jockey who broke his neck at Cheltenham might put in a claim and a few F1 drivers can offer nominations.

Oh yes, worst visually, probably, but not in terms of actual long term damage.
 
I remember seeing DiMatteo snap his leg in a Chelsea game when I was younger - his career ending injury. That was the first time I think I've ever cringed at an injury like that.
 
Can't remember who it was but there was a footballer a few years ago who caught his studs in the ground and turned his ankle 180 degrees the wrong way,that was the worst I can recall seeing.
 
College baller aswell with prospects to the NBA. Never gonna be the same :(
