After my lesson today I had a fitting for a new driver, my R11 was never fitted and was bought off the shelf and this did show durng the fitting.

With my R11 and the 60g Fujikura Blur shaft I was getting way to much backspin, the launch was way to high, with the result that the carry was short and little or no run.

Next up was the Cobra AMP, not for me again lots of backspin, high launch.

I tried the Ping Anser which was better but was told the results could be better again. I tried the G25 but that for me just sent the ball into orbit.

Then came the TM R1 is was good and at that point in the fitting it was a close run thing between it and the Anser. Lastly I tried the new Titleist D2 913, straight away the club felt heavier in balance than any of the others and that showed in the launch and backspin. With the Adila RIP shaft fitted I was getting 10-11 degrees launch with around 2,800 backspin. I tried the same Titleist with a lighter shaft but the result then became the same as the other clubs.

So, if you've read this far I have a new big stick, a Titleist D2 913 with 72g Adila Rip Stiff shaft, so I'm going from the white and as Amy Winehouse said, Back to Black :)

Really looking forward to the new arrival

What's dones done and the main thing is I'm happy with the the results of the fitting.

That's great then, though there night have been a cheaper way.

Nothing like a new shiney though.

I'd also suggest that, unless seriously worn, the club you end up with should be the exact one you found so good in the demo - passing the built/ordered one to your Pro. Or at least tape it up when it arrives and confirm that the feel and performance is the same. Slight differences in 'identical' clubs can have a huge effect though!
