Finally got the all clear from my physio yesterday to go back out on the course after my neck issues which have been documented on here and kept me off the course for 4 months. Got to take things easy but managed a very gentle 9 holes this afternoon which left me a tad sore but nothing a hot bath won't sort out. Think it'll be a few weeks before I can manage 18 but damn did it feel good to be back out there.

It would also seem that all this work on my back has turned my nasty slice into a hook! Yay!

Think I'll stick to 9 holes for a few weeks and build myself up to 18.

Makes sense and maybe even 9 holes, then 9 holes and some short game practice, then 9 holes and a basket on the range etc to gradually strengthen your neck without damaging it?

id stay clear of the range tbh. its unnatural to hit so many balls in a row. you would be better out walking the holes with a break inbetween shots.

I'm not a fan of hitting balls on the range and as Gary says its not natural, sure you could take a break between each shot but that's just boring. Think I'll do 9 holes a few more times then after 9 you can make a short loop of either 3 or 5 holes out the front of the club house, so I'll maybe work up to 12 then 14 then take on a full 18.....still a few weeks away though. I'm in no rush and certainly don't want to hurt myself again.
