Baby steps...

I must admit Imurg I'm a bit confused by this now and I think I may have misunderstood, sorry Tiger. I think the key is Nett doubles so assuming you got two shots on that hole and it was a par 5 it probably will go down to 9.

Where I was going wrong I think is because I got an 8 on a par 5 a few weeks back but cause I got a shot that was already a Nett double so the 8 stands. If I hadn't got a shot it would have been modified to a 7.

Sorry for the naff info Tiger, looks like you will get your 0.8 cut.

First round for me off the whites today this year.

Steady start, 20 points on the way out. Driving slipped for a hole or two but came back with a nice 15 foot birdie. Scored two 7s on the back but thanks to some nice putting I secured 17 points.

Should have been better but I score way to many double bogeys! Had 5 today again! Last time I had the same amount and was two over gross for the other 13, this time I was four over.

In summary and 86, 37 points and a cut of 0.6 after CSS adjustments one thinks.

Once I rid myself of a few of those nasty doubles I will break 80 I am sure!

Don't worry about it hawkeye it all confuses me to. Got to wait in CSS but 27.2 would be a nice way to start the season.

Well played Science Boy sounds like things are on the up for you too. :D

Yeh things have been good. Stole everyone's cash at the East Brightion meet with 41 points. Then back to the home club and shot 84 in a stableford. Shot 83 last weekend and 86 this weekend.

Handicap is tumbling to 14.1 I expect, the lowest ever.

Well played mate - nice to hear of your success.

I would say that any cut is good news and off the whites with the added difficulty you should be very happy taking that away to build on.

Thanks Region & HS.

Region 'earned' is definitely the word its been a mammoth slog to get this far (as you well know!) Weather is looking good today so expecting a few more low scores to be posted and CSS might be affected, I'll just have to wait and see.

Definitely a big confidence boost and platform to build on.

Great to hear you did well yesterday Tiger! Sounds like all of your hard work is finally being rewarded. That extra bit of confidence will make a world of difference and I've no doubt there'll be more success to follow. I know it certainly helped me last year - week after week of crap competition scores but great 'friendly' scores really was tough, but once that first cut arrived it felt like a massive weight was lifted. Just remember to keep enjoying it. Fingers crossed you get the cut! :)
