Baby on board ????? Nah

I say fine all those who don't remove it when the baby is not in the car £60.

Great money spinning idea?

And TBH the thought they are for the emergency services seems unnecessary... surely if they can see that they could see the car seat and those mesh blinds with Whinny the Poo on suckered to the windows. Not to mention the 5 bags of crap needed everywhere the wee bairn goes!

It originated from America, I believe. There was a traffic accident in which all those involved were taken to hospital. When the Mother regained conciousness she asked where her baby was. The nurses, doctors and emergency crews knew nothing of the infant. It turned out that the baby had been thrown from the vehicle and gone down an embankment. Now, if the car had displayed a 'child on born' sign then the emergency crews would have known that an occupant of the vehicle was missing.

A good idea in my opinion but then I've got small children.

so have I but i would never have a sign, they are nonsense.

in the example above, which sounds like an urban myth, the need for a sign is removed by having a child seat with an isofix base !

Each to their own. I have them as I hope against hope that it'll encourage other road users to slow down whilst near me.

I agree about the isofix base, however, the signs have been around longer than isofix bases.

Nothing wrong with the belt and braces approach - isofix car seat and 'child on board' signs. It can't do any harm.

Denial - you say? Every time I get into my Vauxhall Zafira 1.6 Breeze I'm in denial! As Clarkson said when he reviewed one for the Top Gear magazine "the only reason you'd purchase a Zafira is because you're close to death!"

At least I don't pretend, at times, that I'm cruising down the road in a Ferrari.....

Not a new one, anyway.....
