Awful time to get chipping yips

Got the chipping yips today after just starting the 2nd round of the county champs! It literally become a blur, trying to scoop it up with a follow through, even came close to a double hit!

I'm sat at home now waiting for the scores to come in to see if I made the cut. Will be a very early start if I do squeak in, need to hit the chipping green to try to erase this afternoon! Could do with a Bronty chipper on stand by............. Nah it will never get THAT bad.

Welcome to my world. Had nearly a year of thins, fats and shanks. It got into my head and got so bad I was petrified over every shot. Not conducive to good scoring. I think if you have one especially in a big comp it just gets into yor brain. You know you can do it so I wouldnt even bother going to the putting green in the morning if you make the cut or it'll send wrong messages

Longer follow through and a small divot with maybe a bit more loft. Works every time

if youre trying to scoop or feels like trying to scoop try and focus on keeping the right arm straight on the through swing, tends to work for me

Narrow stance.
Ball Back in stance.
Sternum ahead of the ball.
Follow through must be at least as long as the back swing if not a bit further.

Trust me I have recently had a lesson and learnt this. It works great. The guys I play with are off low handicaps and are impressed that my short game is so good for a 24 handicapper.

Now if only I could drive consistently ............

Got a tee time in the club comp instead. 73 knocks in a hurricane, including a triple bogey 7 and an OB on the last. Only had to hit 2 chips and both were ok, yesterday is one to erase from memory I think.
