Avril,he's gone.Thank God.

Am I right in reading today that although Levein has been relieved of his duties as manager that his contract hasn't actually be terminated and he will still be paid up to summer 2014...? Sure i saw this on BBC Sport site.
Absolute madness/nonsense in equal measures if true.

yes his contract is terminated, he is being paid monthly rather than a lump sum, which will then stop if he gets another job.

Fiscal sense.

Quoted from BBC Scotland
"Levein had vowed not to resign and Regan revealed that the coach's contract had not been terminated and that he would continue to be paid until it runs out in summer 2014."

Not sure that it's fiscal sense to continue paying someone for a job they are not doing.

If they give him his jotters they will have to pay it all up front.

Makes no difference, it has to be paid anyway, paying it as he goes along, and ceasing when he gets another job, makes plenty fiscal sense.

Doesn't matter who the manager is, there isn't enough decent players for a mnanager to choose from. Same as England.Capello was meant to be the saviour,"if he can't get them going, no one can",was the opinion of the media down south. Let's face it, football at international level on the british isles is second/third rate.

Yes it may be, but not 6th rate which is where Avril has us. The players are certainly there to be picked from and used better than Avril diod, I can't imagine another manager ever picking a 4th division player ever again for instance, or ignoring the top scorer available from England.
