Killing an hour or so the other day and was looking for prices for the new Ping G410 driver. Every shop I looked at it more or less said check in store for prices. Why's that. It was not just the driver but a lot of gear. What's the purpose behind not showing prices online.

Ping don't sell online, or at least they didn't.
It's to ensure you at least go into a shop and hopefully get some sort of fitting.

What threw me a bit Imurg was i looked online in the UK and saw you could pick them up for £399 thought mmmmmm off to Oz in 6 months. Wonder what there like there.

If you look closely, you'll notice most sites in the UK will show the price, but instead of an add to basket button will have some text telling you to call to order.
Just a ping policy in general, possibly consumer laws in either country impact whether the price can or can't (or must) be shown.
