Just had flyer, closing this weekend , going back to farmland .
A few mates are members there, they're all moving on to redlibbits
I feel like we're spoilt for choice in kent, but maybe it's the same everywhere.
Haven't played redlibbets for 18 months or so, but I don't recall there being issues with the greens then, maybe things have changed.
We have quite a lot of courses in Kent, especially in that Brands Hatch area but having played at West Hill this week and Blackmoor, North Hants and others in the Surrey/Hampshire border, I jut love the heathland courses so much. They are always dryer, the ball seems to sit up better and West Hill earlier this week was pretty much dry whereas my own course was only just open
The 2nd and 4th were always rubbish.
I was there for 10 years but got fed up with the broken promises about the greens.
When they dry out in the summer they're a lottery.
Shame the course has a lovely layout and some great holes, just not that well kept, IMO.
West Hill was a stunning course on Tuesday even with all the rain
It was a pleasure to play there
You're so right Phil, I just love it, perhaps even more than Sunningdale!
I played West Hill a couple of weeks ago having not played there for 6/7 months. They have spent the money they got from the developers in return for land fill on their practise ground (its now fantastic!) on the course. Even tho the subs are in the region of £2k its a bargain. I have never seen the course looking better, the presentation was immaculate!
