There's a guy who playes in the Lincolnshire PGA and just seems to hoover up money, winning most of the tournaments with scores in the mid 60s.
He's tried many times to break through on the European tour with only a limited number of starts. But.........
This weekend at Wentworth, he only had to par the last to make the cut...he made 6. Fortunately, the cut moved up 1 so he made the cut. (right on the mark). He shot 74 yesterday but 68 today and is currently tied 20th :)
With a bit of luck, this will give him the confidence he needs and a few more invites to maybe get his full card next year.
His name is Paul Streeter.

Nice Post / Story Bob
Great to hear of the 'underdog' having his big day
Onwards and upwards hopefully, certainly wont hinder his chances of gaining a bit of sponsorship, aswell as a nice cheque for this week

Well, for Paul who normally teaches at Direct golf in Lincoln and is used to winning £300-£500 at a tournament, today he won roughly £38,500.
Nice :)

He's probably learned some Afrikaans over the last couple of days too. Though Coetzee wasn't in thebest of moods on Saturday!

Bob.....don't know if you saw the photos I posted of Jodie getting autographs earlier, but Paul's was the first she got...............as luck would have it, her pen ran out just as he was signing her program. Not wanting to hold him up I said to him not to worry, but he got his own pen out and made sure she got her autograph......he was as nice as pie and very patient after having already signed dozens of autographs........wish I'd seen your post earlier......I could have passed on your sentiment........I hope he goes on to play in a lot more tournaments....seems very grounded.

Good to see the smaller names having a good day but I guess £38,500 still leaves a long way to go to ensure he earns his card next year. At least he'll take heart from it and it may open up a few more invites
