I thought I was a better back 9 player but having just looked at my stats there's not much difference between either. However, if I have a good round going, I tend to finish very well.

Depends on the course but at our place certainly love the back 9. Last Saturday +7 out, level back (off 6). This is regular. I also tend to always have a better afternoon round in a 36 hole comp too. No idea why.

I'm definitely better on the front. The back at mine plays abit longer and is more driver oriented. Think the worst round was 22 points on the front and ended with 32! Gutted!

I usually score better on the front nine at my club. It is definitely the easier of the two. Scored well on the front nine of the Dukes at Woburn and then fell away for a few holes. I'm another though that can throw a ropey front nine and then come home under a full canvass. I can't seem to put a consistent 18 together. There are always a couple of killer holes that ruin any good work

either, rarely both :(

This for me.

There has been four times this year when I've been sitting plus 1 at the turn. The 2 round I was hitting it well and should have been lower, I collapsed after the turn and just made buffer in both. The other 2 rounds, I wasn't hitting it well at all, but was scrambling to save Pars and on the back 9, my ball striking picked up, my confidence was high and I finished +2 both time for the round.

Moral of the story for me is, if my short game is firing, i'll score well.

I never feel like im living up to my potential on the way round then the last 5 holes i work out what i need to make my buffer and the last 3 rounds have been -1, level & -2 scraped it with an eagle on the last. Id be at least scratch if they made 5 hole golf courses.

Invariably, my back 9 is better than my front. I attribute this to the fact that I don't play that often and it can take a couple of holes to get my swing at the right tempo and find a correct rhythm.

Tend to play the first 11 better, I put this down to only ever playing them when I go up for a practice in the evening so have gotten to grips with them better than the last 7!

Definitely score better on the front 9 then the back 9.
Take last Saturday should on the tenth tee with a gross 38 on the front 9. 6 under my handicap, think I could win this board comp.
then cue the duck hooks, shanks you name it I did it!! Gross 56 on the back 9 and a 0.1 for my troubles :(
