Are YES putters all that...?

Clearly I'm one of the few that don't like Yes putters. I've never really found one I've liked the look of behind the ball. Simple as that really. Still think you have to go a long way to beat the original Anser 2

I had the Amy a while back. Nice well balanced putter but every now and then the ball would come off the face like a rocket, totally unexpected.
In the end it just had to go.
.

qwerty, i had and amy and had exactly the same issues... just when you think you have it sortedand you finally had the pace sorted... boom you'd get a flyer which would ruin my head...

she had to go!

I had a Marilyn for a while and when I put a good swing and made a good conection it was as good as anything I've used but I found that anything short of a good strike and distance control was very tricky. Sometimes the ball just seemed to explode off the face and at others didn't seem to go anywhere.
Lovely looking clubs though and if you get on with one then there's not much that looks better.

I have had one for 2 years and it is good. There is a lot of rust spots on the shaft. I had a personalised fitting with a local pro. I said I need a 32 inch as I am 5ft 10. He is about 6 ft 2 " and has a 33 "/QUOTE]

Funny that I am 5'6" and find a 33" just right for me. He must really bend over when he puts?

I've got a Yes Tracy and love it.
Except when I three putt.
And I have been known to 4 putt.
Not very often, but often enough to remember.
In fact, I did one about 3 weeks ago.

I like mine. Me and Marilyn have been together for a few years now and we're getting on famously.

But as has been stated above, putters are completely individual and there really isn't a right and wrong answer. Try lots, buy the one you like the most ;)

not sure why the putters are named after women tbh?

because putting is like making love to a beautiful women, first you grasp her gently and make smooth strokes, then you jab a few times before finally putting it in the hole and shouting 'ya beauty' :smirk:

I imagine that the Yes putter names come from women that the designer has met and hooked up with in bars over the years.

All I can say is that woman who inspired the Madison must have been picked up with the beer goggles well and truly in place.

One of the most popular putter designs is the Ping Anser.
YES golf make their own version called the Callie.
If you cant put with that, you cant putt with anything.
Just my opinion of course

on the back of this review:rolleyes: I went and tried the yes callie, not bad, not bad indeed, I never missed from 6 feet over 26 putts..............

the shop assistant did say "the carpets got a natural run into the cup from there" but if all the greens I play are like that carpet my h/cap will be tumbling down:smirk:

Had a Yes! putter (sandy I think) and probably should have kept it!

Best putter for looks and feel I've seen or used are the Ping Redwood. Not tried the new Ping ones yet, trying to keep a putter for more than 2 months at the moment!!
