Apple vs Andriod

Spot on, clever marketing from Apple is where they are a field apart from the competition.
Doesnt make the product any better though? As I said above, they are great for people who either dont need much or dont really know what they want (no disrespect, many people will go with marketing over substance).

Coincidentally I just got a No Sim Installed message on my iphone!

Naturally there is a sim in it so for the first time in a year I go to open it up... what!! I need a paper clip!!! you're kidding me

Fortunately I'm in the office and could fill out the paperwork to requisition one however this has to be in triplicate & I had to scrap the first form and fill out another one this time for two paper clips as I need the 2nd one for the request forms!!!

Anyway then had to google how a paper clip opens sim slot to get a picture from apple support but no written instructions... then found a 19 year old in the office who showed me how its done and sure enough sim card is still there

In/Out, In/Out on/off on/off several times and what do you know its working again... simple and oh so user friendly!

Makes a useful point, although inadvertently. No matter how good the OS is, it depends on the common sense of the user and that is sometimes lacking. On behalf of Apple, I would encourage you to go Android. You are clearly much better suited to it.

Silly old Apple to assume iphone users would have a bit of common sense.

I am well past 19 and have no trouble using them.

What a pair of quotes. Incredible really

I have used both systems and there are pros and cons for both. In general, apple is easier to use out of the box and IOS is a good, stable operating system which pretty easy to get to grips with. That said, it can be restrictive and like the flexibility that android gives me to set up the phone how I want and use whatever music or other apps I like. I would say that 5 years ago Apple was a level above everyone else but not really now.

The reasons that I use Android, however, are twofold. First one is that I want a decent phone at I do not have to pay any money up front for and that has cheaper, flexible call packages. Apple deals tend be more expensive (though not so much now with the 6 on the horizon).

The other reason is that I am a contrary individual. If everyone wants apple then I want something else. When I got my first smartphone, everyone wanted and apple so I went for an Android. Illogical and possibly self defeating but that is just me.

Wait for the iPhone 6. Should be announced in June.

Apple all the way for me too.

Why do you want to change?

Answer both of these in 1 reply. I simply fancy a change.

If I were to get the iPhone 6 it's going to be, pretty much, the same to use my current phone, only having a different shape/finish body.

Funny that Brendy mentions the Samsung Note Phablet as that's what I was looking at yesterday andwasvery impressed. I understand the note 4 is outin September so maybe worth look.

With Apple, the interface and OS will be the same as I have now.

For what its worth, that is exactly what I will be getting next.

How would your clearly superior common sense approach the situation when someone asks you for help with a device you don't use?

I've just changed from a 5s to an HTC one - the HTC is far and away a better phone - I cant be doing with the way ios7 handles email including no way of bulk deleting emails!! Apple in my opinion is too expensive, too parochial and too limiting plus its only got a 4 inch screen which is no good when you are the wrong side of 50! lol. And btw ive also got an Ipad and an Imac but I just don't like the iphone

Android for me. I've had a few iphones in the past but detest iTunes. To add music was a pain in the arse. The prices for memory upgrades are ridiculous and the frailty of them was woeful.
I have a S4 and it's a great phone. Drop a 64gb micro sd in for about £20. Add and share music without needing a laptop. Great screen size for Web browsers and really simple user interface.
I can't see me going back to apple. They make nice kit. They just seem to be off the pace now.

Have a look at the galaxy S5.
