My apologies for posting the guys name. I did a quick copy n paste job. However I would like to say HDID is open to us all to see including names and I did not accuse, in fact I agreed with some of the possible scenarios. Next time I’ll put in a hypothetical instead of “potential”.

It's not, you know! Only if you're a member of a club that uses it....

Yes your club has to be a member of HDID to look at other clubs results that are also
members of HDID

How do you do that....? It won't let me view anything unless I log in and it won't let me register because I'm not a member of a club that uses it.

A few times I've been unable to see results for comps I've played in because the club only published the results in HDID.

Do you need to log in to do that?

You get access as a member of Royal Musselburgh, which is incidentally one of the clubs whose open result I was unable to see.... and I won it! They thought I was mad phoning up and asking for the results.... "Just look on HDID" GRRRRRR!!!

I'm more than annoyed about it, if clubs can't publish their open results where all competitors can see them they shouldn't hold them, IMO. Worse when you have to argue with them on the phone to get them to even tell you the results...

Well as I read it,your club an the club where you want to see results both have to be members
of HDID.

its a misconception that using the word allegedly gives you free reign to say what you want. It doesnt!

I'm more than annoyed about it, if clubs can't publish their open results where all competitors can see them they shouldn't hold them, IMO. Worse when you have to argue with them on the phone to get them to even tell you the results...

Absolutely!! My club isn't on HDID so that place is like a desert to me!!

No, my point is about clubs that use HDID, publish their results there and think that means all they need to do is publish their open results there too. And then practically accuse you of lying when you phone up looking for the results ('cos you know you had a good score and must be in the frame) and tell them you can't get into HDID.

A couple of times I've got kind souls on here to look it up and post results for me.....

thanks Tommo, I certainly didnt think your post was intending to cause any issues merely highlighting an unusual return but we do have to be mindful of how posts can be interpreted

indeed; and it can go further than that as I found out when I ended up on the wrong side of a legal action as a member of a committee where it was documented (minutes) that allegedly someone had ........ and I wasn't even at the committee meeting when it occured! That one ran 2 years

Indeed, you have to have access to HDID - which is via your own Club (that has to be on it), but when you do, you have access to all HDID results.

And your new club isn't on HDID either, so no help there!
