Apologies...

No reason to - we use different software that does the job perfectly well.

Think it works both ways, clubs that use Master Scoreboard only allow access to their users and if your club uses HDID you cant access the information on Master Scoreboard. However I think HDID is a better system and can offer it's clubs and their members a better service & information on their scoring & stats.

Indeed, but we publish the results of our opens on the club website, that everyone can access!

HDID may well be better....... but I don't know, do I? ;)

Why don't you suggest to your club they become members?

It's not that easy!

It's only those that use the Club2000 Club Handicap software that can be users. They may be dominant, but they are not the only ones (MasterScoreboard for example). And HDID has been known to have issues.

There needs to be (and may be) a 'Make Publicly Available' function that publishes to a publicly available format, like a PDF for any such comp. And that applies to other software too.

Banned from there too? ;)

No, my point is about clubs that use HDID, publish their results there and think that means all they need to do is publish their open results there too. And then practically accuse you of lying when you phone up looking for the results ('cos you know you had a good score and must be in the frame) and tell them you can't get into HDID.

I got that

I was saying it's the same for me too!

I suggested my club join HDID and they said it was too expensive when their software works perfectly fine for our club.
... love these forward thinkers!!!!

Anyone can look at the MasterScoreboard site. It is up to individual clubs to decide whether their results/handicaps are viewable by all or only members with a password.
Our club for example, anyone can see whatever they want to.

I'd say most clubs on MS are publicly available. I think I've only ever tried to look at 2 that required a password.

On HDID, you have to log in before you can do anything.

I don't think you would be any better off using the System2000 software which uses HDID as a portal because the Ladies results are not publicly published!

I've been drawn against ladies in National matchplay comps and can't access their past scores but I can all the men's, it would seem from reading forum posts on HDID that the ladies opted out of publishing results across the board! Why wouldn't they want their scores to be shown?

I can access ladies scores from my club and my previous club on HDID - had a look the other day to see how my mate and his missus were scoring at my old track

Edit: thought better of it.

I quite like HDID, my club uses it. Agree that open results should be posted elsewhere also though, such as on the main club website, due to the access restrictions.

Every lady I been drawn against came up a blank, I then came across it being discussed on the HDID forum that many of the ladies sections had opted out of having their scores publicly published! I think some just show the nett scores and you can't highlight and look at their cards like you can with all the men's, either way, its not 100% across the board, they've been given an option to opt out!
