• Thank you all very much for sharing your time with us in 2025. We hope you all have a safe and happy 2026!

Anyone tried these ?

Forgive my ignorance, but what is the point of them?
You surely can't use them normal play, only a round of practice and delays?
Or am I missing something?
There was another brand of these a few years ago, red ones. Assuming they are the same...... .they log the distance you hit each club. The idea is it gives you accurate, genuine data rather than 'i hit my pw 140yds every time' 😂.

It doesn't help in play as such, not illegal.

So are they intended to be interegated post game?
TBH, if I were that way inclined I could laser the ball to get a distance on it straight away.
(That is something I have done at a range, and low and behold the distances are correct when I play )
BTW, to hit it 140 yds I would need a few more clube up that a PW :ROFLMAO:

And for someone not inclined to laser the ball 80 shots per round, they could use these.

They're not mandatory.

I wouldnt use a laser that much, its just silly :)
I might use a laser in game about 4 times max.
On the range might be different ;)

Have a read up on them. They offer more than you are trying to make comment about.

That's much more constructive than telling us to go out, buy a laser and go to the range.

I’m intrigued as to whether they’re any good. I used to have Arcoss and loved the shot tracking and data it provides but not a fan of the annual subscriptions. But at a fraction of the price of these can give me some basic data and work in a simple way I’m tempted.

They are a good value tool, which I haven't yet used to their full benefit.

I take a shot, get to the ball and it tells me last shot distance on my watch, then records it for post round review. I don't need it to, because we can all work it out in our head, but good to see at a glance if I am matching my standard.

Using the app, it uses the data from your previous rounds to suggest a club off the tee, showing the distance expected and then what distance your second shot will be. You can reduce/extend the distance, move left/right and everything adjusts with it. It knows your distance (real not vanity) and saves you calculating second shot distance if you hit the tee shot to x or whatever.

For me, it was money well spent and something I enjoy for the investment. No subs either.

The rules -

You cannot use information learnt from them during the round you are currently playing e.g. If you use a 6 iron on the 1st and log the info you cannot use that info for a 6 iron with a later shot in the round.

You can use the information gained from a previous round in you current round.

Do you use another make of sensors ? Or have you give up
I’ve used GameGolf (the OG of golf sensors), Arcos too - I do appreciate the ability to “capture” your round and extra stats you can collect to analyse your game / course management etc.

Having said that there are multiple challenges/limitations of any of these tech products, lots of threads on here cover them e.g. auto shot detection can be patchy, editing the round afterwards can be tedious etc. So it really depends if the value /effort works for you.

ShotScope is best UI/features in my view and no annual sub is great, just get the sensors AND the device.

Personally, I’ve ended up just using the “track the shot” feature of GolfShot app that I’ve been using forever. It’s very basic stats wise but still can help you to capture your longest drive or how to/not to play a hole 😂 No sensors - just the app.

You can use the ShotScope app on its own to do the same and get even better stats/dashboard than GolfShot - I only use it as all my rounds ever played are scored in it so I want to keep going 😂
