Anyone play during "Doris"?

I went out with my PP yesterday and we were just about the only people on the course.
The wind was very gusty at first getting worse as the round progressed but we managed to avoid any proper rain.
It was crazy, our bags were constantly being blown over and there were times when you had to hit your putt before your ball was moved by the wind. On the 18th I couldn't get my ball to stay on the tee.

I thoroughly enjoyed it and strangely had one of my better rounds.
My PP (brother) hated it which made it all the more pleasurable for me
We're normally pretty close with scores but I beat him by 16 shots

I went to the range in Sunderland yesterday at about 11.00. The eye of the storm must have been right overhead. The sun was shining & the flags weren't moving at all, there was virtually no wind. An hour before & a couple of hours afterwards it was windy, but not half as bad as the rest of the country.

4 inches of snow fell yesterday morning round my way so tricky to get out of the house at all never mind golf...

I hit a few shots in a feild near work. Hit them straight and clean and they still went as far sideways as they did forward. Fun, but play a round in it? No thanks, it was bitterly cold.

i played 9 yesterday, borderline insane lol. Playing 18 this afternoon in what looks far more pleasant conditions

I made the decision weds I was not going, glad I did coz at 11.00 it turned brutal. They said there would be gusts. Really Mr Schafferknacker got that one wrong. It never stopped blowing a gale. Miserable sod next door has got a dozen tiles missing off his roof.
Two PP said they were playing. Got an email through saying that had kicked it in the head.

Our course was closed for safety reasons. Played today and despite a clear up operation there was debris from trees on most holes and a sizeable one down on the 17th and 18th. I stayed home and watched An Officer and a Gentleman and putted on the carpet for a while!

Ladies Comp was cancelled then course closed for H & S, played today and not a lot of damage just plenty of small branches down

We have a copse between the first green and the second tee, you walk best part of 100 yards through. When we went through yesterday I chose to "run" as one of the big 60ft+ trees was swaying badly.

Went through the copse today, said tree had come down and smashed onto the path.

Definitely wasnt bright being out there yesterday!

It was my day off from golf yesterday, so it fell nicely. Today, the course was closed until 10 for debris clean up and we teed off about ten minutes later. There were a few trees down around the course but all the big ones had been removed. Most greens had been blown clear of debris but it was good to be out.
