A question for those in the Leicester area if you please?
I have been waiting on a delivery and was given yesterday as the day to be at home (all day delivery - needs a signature) so obediently took the day off and waited in. You guessed it, nothing.
So I contacted the company this morning and was told all their deliveries had been delayed due to bad weather and that they had to shut the shop completely.

As I am not at home today will have missed the [supposed] delivery today and will need to travel to Edinburgh to pick up (as working tomorrow too)...

Was there bad weather in Leicester yesterday that makes their explanation plausible or is it tosh and I will go in all guns blazing?

Cheers all

I work in Leicestershire and commute from warwickshire. It rained but my commute took no longer than normal. I have heard of a guy that works in Leicester that took 2 hours to get home on a motorbike.

It rained all day and was pretty windy, but nothing that I'd expect a business to have to close for.

There were a couple of accidents on main roads in rush hour, but again, nothing that would cause anyone to grind to a halt for the whole day imo.

Maybe the morning delay caused them to miss a meeting point or something?

Thanks Gary.
I did get the delivery eventually at half 7 last night.

That happened to me a couple of weeks ago as well.

Delivery paid for to come between 8 and 5, so when I got home at 6 and it wasn't there I was disappointed for my daughter as it was something for her and she was upset it hadn't turned up.
Knock at the door at 6:30pm and it was the delivery driver.

That really impressed me. You hear stories of drivers saying they couldn't get there or even that they knocked and got no reply when you know darn well they didn't, so the fact that the guy had obviously had a bad day but had still completed his deliveries and made himself late home renewed my faith somewhat in customer service.

Would love to say that this was the case here but apparently the delivery company work up until 8.30pm anyway.
