I'm playing in a 6 course challenge at the weekend in aid of the Willow Foundation Charity where me and 3 others from my club are playing 6 courses over 2 days.

Saturday we are playing the Grove then Burhill and then Stoke Park.

On Sunday we are playing Brocket Hall, Luton Hoo and then Aldwickbury Park.

We are walking but have 2 or 3 buggies with people helping to ball spot, transport the clubs etc.....

We are one person short for Saturday and I wondered if anyone was at a loose end in the area that might want to help out.

If you're interested please let me know.

Just a few goat tracks then! :D

Wish I was available mate, but I'm working Saturday afternoon.

Best of luck with the weekend though.

Only played the front 9 on that one, was still impressive. The Melbourne course in my mind was brilliant, tore me apart but fantastic. The 18th over the river is a splendid hole to finish on.

Have a great weekend, weather looks great!

Unfortunately cant make it otherwise would have joined you Rick.

Played the old course at Burhill yesterday, you will love it especially if you havent played it before. Its in very good nick as it just played host to a seniors qualifier event.

31pts playing of 8 yesterday but didnt hole a putt all day. Watch out for the green on the 7th it is wickedly fast right to left.

Aching a bit this morning after 6 rounds on Saturday and Sunday.

Started at the Grove at 07:00. Golf was a bit ropey with only a mid 20's score, but the course was in superb nick.

We got to Burhill a bit late after traffic problems and the Old Course was very busy so we played the New Course instead.

Managed an impressive 40 points which included a blob on the 1st as we were rushing to get out of the way of a 3 ball who had kindly let us through on the tee....played the rest of the front 9 in 1 under.

Then on to Stoke Park with it's magnificent views of the famous Mansion. The par 3 7th is the one which was copied by Augusta's famous 16th.

Only managed 29 points as we finished the last few holes in the dusk and scoring got a bit tricky. A meal in a nearby Italian restaurant in Farnham Common finished the day nicely.

Got to bed around 2 am with the alarm clock set for 05:00 ready for our 06:00 tee at Brocket Hall.

We played the Palmerstone which is easily my favourite course in Hertfordshire. My golf returned and I posted 38 points with 2 blobs and 3 birdies on the front 9. None on the back but I managed 21 points with only 1 bogie. Missed a hole in 1 by 2 inches on the 5th.
Played some good golf at Luton Hoo until the last few holes and then finished off at Aldwickbury with a nondescript round.

I'll post some pics when I get chance. Feeling shattered but with a sense of achievement. Stupidly agreed to play my semi final singles knockout at 17:00 tonight........just hope I bring my 38/40 point form and not my mid 20's mediocrity!!!

Thanks for all the messages of support, not sure what the final sum raised was, but it should be around £2000.

Great effort Rick. Remind me when you retired from work again will you .... ;)

:D

I want to be like RickG when I grow up...well minus the terrible taste in clothes, peversions and hairdressers car...Actually minus everything except the golf clubs and the spare time to play golf. ;)

I can hit a 2-iron just fine thanks. Problem is, some bloke sold me a duff one that doesn't work properly! I was proper robbed

(It actually goes fine off the tee and I never need to use it on the fairway so it's great :D)
