Having so much spare time on my hands and zero chance of actually playing golf, i've been practicing the old keepy-upy routines like Tiger did on a nike ad a few years back. Im pretty handy (i'll try and post a vid when I can work it out), far better than I am at actual golf anyway.
Just wondering if anyone else can do any tricks? or am I just sad. I do feel it does wonders for the hand eye coordination, and it helps to get a feel for your clubs, especially wedges. I always spend 30 minutes or more doing tricks with a new wedge to get used to it, then when you pull it out on the course it feels more natural.

I can do a good line in losing my provisional ball. Ist tee shot goes right into the clag, provisional follows it but not quite so far so I think I've got a chance of findind it.
Get to the clag - 1st ball's sitting pretty, provisional's lost forever.
Great trick - winds Fragger and CVG up no end!!

Thats more like it. I guess you mean like the Mickleson trick, where you break your wrists through the ball. I haven't mastered that yet.
My favourite little trick (one for everone to try at home) is to throw a ball up to about head height (spin it with a flick of the thumb) and land it stone dead and still spinning on the face of your wedge without bouncing.

A similar one to Homers is the 2 ball out of a bunker trick shot. Place one ball behind the other and hit the back ball as hard as you can. It generates MASSIVE backspin. Use a bunker with a high lip if you're doing this for the first time in front of people who haven't seen it. The front ball will hit the face of the bunker and they will be MEGA impressed by the huge backspin you generate on the ball that comes out of the bunker.
