Evening all.

Just sorting out my golf balls and wondering is there any use in using decent balls in the winter??

Seems no matter what ball you use the greens, they just smash into the greens like mortar rounds and jump back an inch or so and stop.

I don't use a certain ball throughout summer, generally mix and match with AD333's/Pro V1s/DT Solos so I'm not stuck on a certain ball.

I dont think so. I move from Prov1 to Ad333 as soon as the greens soften. For the price they're probably the best ball for feel around the green. They'll spin on pitch and chips shots too. Just takes a game or two before im fully used to them.

Doesn't hurt as much when you lose one in leaves.... on the fairway.

not really. you're going to get the usual response of ''how balls feel off the putter face, how they sound and being clunky'' but these people need help.

if anything i find premium balls hurt you in the winter with the amount of spin you get on the green

Same ball, all year round. Don't see the point in changing. I do have the luxury of playing a very well draining course though...so greens never really become that wet.

My preferred ball is Wilson Staff DX2 and usually get some yellow ones for winter. Though I'm not too fussy as long as whatever I'm playing doesn't feel like I'm hitting/putting a stone.

Recently had a tube of Titleist DT TruSoft (the DTSoLo replacement) and thought they were a nice ball.

I use Callaway Chrome soft during the season, now we are playing winter golf i purchased the Titleist DT Trusoft in yellow 24 for 35.00 which will do me until the season starts again, dont see the point of using my premium balls in the off season, though i will be continuing to practice my putting indoors with both types.

I went on eBay and got 20 yellow Bridgestone e6s for winter

i use the white version for the summer

these second hand ones will do for the winter

I actually buy Yellow AD333's for the Winter, usually around about now and play with these until Feb. Then I gift them to my nephew to lose for me. :D

I've got a box full of random balls in the house...managed to group together some Srixon Distance and Callaway CXR'S....think I'll game them after reading the replies, cheers

did you just say '' you'll GAME '' the balls?

Decided to use some AD333's, that were a present last Christmas, this winter and actually prefer them to VIx's in heavier conditions as least. Might carry the experiment forward into spring also. A nice ball.
