Are there any photographer on GM?

I'm just getting back into it all, bought a DSLR at the weekend. It's probably 7/8 years since I did any serious photography, back when I had a manual SLR.

Which magazines are worth a nosey at, thik it was Practical Photography I used to get.

Also, does anyone enter their pictures into competitions? Where is the best place to look out for such things?

I'm crap but this is the best photo I've ever taken. It won't be the best quality ever as I copied it from fb as the original is at home.

:D bigslice

It was Sned, I've got a Panasonic Lumix G2, got the 14-43mm and 45-200mm lenses.

Bizarly I bought it from outside the Lion pen at Chester Zoo!!!

Was there at the weekend for my son's birthday, a local shop had a stand and they were hiring out the G2 free of charge for two hours and you got to keep the SD card.

They were doing some 'zoo deals' and I fell hook line and sinker for their marketing ploy!

Had been considering the camera for a while, and this deal had the longer lens massivly discounted plus extra battery, bad, SD card, UV filters, £50 cash back and a free family ticket back to the zoo worth another £55.

That sounds like a pretty good offer and a fantastic promotion.

The first entry for the zoo comp, that meercat one is pretty good also. You'll have to let us know how your cheeter gets on against it!

Lol SigBlice, I actually have a canon 1000d DSLR too :D
DPreview is a decent forum and site for all things dslr.
Havent really had the camera out much recently (getting guys on here to post pics is much more fun!) Taking it to Singapore though. Pity I got rid of my 70-200 though as I only have a 18-55mm, should be good enough though for usual holiday snaps and the odd panorama stitch.

To see serious photographs with exquisite lighting, strong subject matter and a penchant for the more eclectic modern school of photography I don't think you can go far wrong with Razzle or a good readers wives special. Ah! now that's photography never mind flipping butterflies. ;)
