Not a Motherwell fan but I do watch a lot of Scottish football. A decent enough defender but he's never really stood out when I've seen him. If I remember rightly, he seems to attract a bit of trouble off the field as well. Don't expect a world beater. Comparing him to the other scots you've had there, less likely to do well than McNaughton, McCormack or Burke. Probably more at the level of Gavin Rae or Steven Thompson.

Cheers.

I've heard he's had a bit of aggro off the pitch, broken jaw from fight outside nightclub, arrested for fighting at another nightclub etc.

I hope he's not a Joey Barton type.

I don't think he's quite that bad. There was a nasty incident where he was convicted of assault for decking a guy at a nightclub. Got a fair amount of press coverage up here and he didn't come out of it looking too clever, to be honest.

I think he got assaulted or robbed at gunpoint while he was on holiday as well. Maybe he's just unlucky.

He was the captain at Motherwell, at least for a while, so I'd think that he can't be total tool.

Cheers Andy.

Fair play to Dave Jones, he's done pretty well finding some great players from Scotland recently. McNaughton, Rae, Burke, McCormack, all impressed me since their arrival.

I was disappointed when we sold Neil Alexander, he was a great keeper.

McCormack is a gem and was a star at Fir Park a couple of seasons ago. I guess it is a guage of how bad Scottish footy is when the biggest clubs cant compete with English 2nd and 3rd division clubs. Even Celtic couldnt attract a 'reputable' manager and lumped for someone 'Celtic minded' in other words another CHEAP numpty.
