I always turn mine off at the spur, especially in todays energy costs!

With spurs being so close by it's not really a hardship to turn off and on as required

True but an induction Hob should have a 45A double pole switch, they are big and unsightly so people often have them in cupboards or somewhere else out the way.
Tbh I’m struggling to see where any “phantom load” would come from with an Induction Hob?
Maybe @Bunkermagnet could throw some light on it?

I think a lot is thrown about ATM due to the energy crisis .. TVs off at wall etc etc but a hob isn't like a TV it's not in standby surely

I mean does a kettle, air fryer etc phantom load?

Microwave yes cuz the clock lol

Some induction hobs are 13a plug and play, but very few.
Ibe never really looked at the off power use, but as they are touch control if fair to say they may use a minute amount to power the on off sensor, however I suspect a phone charger left plugged in with no phone connected probably use as much if not more.
It isn’t something I would worry about, compared to making sure lights are turned off or even not needed but used.

Even modern TVs it is really next to nothing bit like computer monitors it is something less 3w. My daughter and I were discussing this and I looked at the manual - my 40" TV uses less than half a watt in standby mode.
