Off for a golf break with mates to Belmont Lodge near Hereford soon but not teeing off till 3pm. Does anyone know of any decent courses nearby or on the way down from the Birmingham area that we could play in the morning?

The Herefordshire? 
Belmont is a really nice course, my best friend from school was a member there. Two very different 9's. The front 9 is up on the hill, the other is down by the river, which is in play at many points…
Can be quite busy but still enjoyable.

At least you're playing in the summer, it was a bog when I player there. 1st & 2nd holes are ok, followed by 7 bland holes. Tricky, fiddly back nine has some nice holes down by the river.
Lovely Lodge part but the hotel looks like student dorms next to the 18th!!!
I'd take alittle detour down the M50 and go to Ross on Wye, one of my favourite courses anywhere. Tree lined on every hole, like a mini Woburn......playing there in a couple of weeks, can't wait.

Down in Herefordshire next week and playing Burghill and the Herefordshire .
Both are the wrong side of the river from Belmont as traffic in Hereford is terrible.
Go for Ross on Wye of a bit further Monmouth if you want 36 holes in day
