So there I am in AG in Hull, I'm playing well, driving well everythings going great at the moment, then I see it! propped up under the lights. A thing of beauty, stunning, black, slim and sexy, and it's winking at me. I go over just to say hi, no intention of touching, just looking. Yeah right! ten minutes later after hitting a dozen balls in the net and being told "God you hit that well" I'm walking out £300+ lighter carrying a new Callaway FT-IZ Tour driver, and boy am I going to make them have it on Sunday. Less than 3 months later it's in the for sale section of the forum and the trusty G10 is back in the bag.AAAAAAAAAAAArgh why do we do it? I need my head examining :( :( :( :(

We've all done it and will no doubt go on doing it. We all believe that the shiny new club we buy will give just that little bit extra that we're looking for.

Aye right.

PS glad you bought the Callaway 'cause the ping is working wonders for me :D :D

I treated myself to a beautiful set of custom fit Mizuno MP60's a good few years back, £600 worth of beautiful forged irons.

Three months later with the Ping I5's back in the bag I had sold the Mizuno's on ebay at a staggering loss of £270. Some lucky beggar got a nearly new set of bats at a fraction over half price.

Sometimes you need to have a fling to appreciate what you already have - Tiger would have been happy to get away with £300! ;)
