I generally enjoy reading about other peoples successes, but rarely have much to add for my own game. Except recently, I posted about a pb of 95 on here. Not much to the better players on here, but those that have played with me will understand.

Last Friday, posted a new pb of 92 gross (par is 69), or a net 5 under par if you prefer. 41 points on SF. But it's the gross that I'm really measuring.

1 net eagle, 9 net birdies, 3 net pars, 4 net bogies and 1 net double boggy. No real major disasters, which is normally my nemisis.

I've not re-joined the club this year, so I'm unable to enter any comps and get my official h'cap reduced. So I'm not altogether sure what would be fair, both to the guys I play with and to me! But two pb's in as many weeks is starting to get embarrasing.

Realisticaly what would you suggest?

nice one... sometimes it just clicks. sometimes it clicks and then goes away again. sometimes it clicks and stays and you can move on to the next level. it's the same will all sport.

hope it's the later for you :)

I wouldn't worry about the " better player " as you seem to. Your PB is an achievement within the scope of your ability and that’s all that matters

Play to your limits and the score takes care of itself to a large degree. You are obviously in a decent run of form so enjoy it and if the numbers continue to drop then so be it. The second you have a target in mind you try that bit too hard and things go wrong

Net eagles and birdies arnt gross big man!
Good shooting Graham, keep 'er lit!
Just think, with a bit more practice, you too could spell nemesis correctly! haha, seriously, itll be mid eighties before long, just dont put yourself under too much pressure.

Yeah. I know. Net anything don't count for squat, but it was added as a basis for any suggestions regarding altering my h'cap. (Though gross would have been fine I'm sure.)

As I said. This is no biggie for you lower guys. But at least (for) now I appear to be on the right road!

Apart from this week, the past two months have been pretty poor and might even see you on your way down the handicap scale as I head up it!
Seems I can score better with just the irons than taking the driver etc out with me.
Shot 82 from the back sticks on Saturday with nothing longer off the tee than my 3 iron.
It certainly didn't hurt on the par 5s (two pars and a double bogey from the fairway with an overhit wedge in) but only had myself chipping out of trouble once. It was actually the putting that hurt me which was a strange one as it is normally grand.

Well done on the improved form. Hope it continues.

As for adjusting your handicap, why not do it as if it were the club doing it? i.e. 0.4 (?) for each shot below sss.

Well done hapless, as always with us higher h/c (I'm 25) its just a couple of holes that lets us down. But it looks like you are now getting some consistancy which us high h/c are always looking for.

I managed to score on 19 consecutive holes (from hole 10 to hole 10 on the next round) last week, and have scored on 33 holes in my last two rounds. OK some of them have been scrambles for a point where I get two shots, but at least I am scoring. Even managed a 5 with a penalty drop on our 427 yard 17th(SI 3)on Sunday.

Lets see who is the first to brake the magical 90. Good luck.
