So, it appears that I've managed to bag a tee time next week at a course I've wanted to play pretty much all my life.

Royal Birkdale!!

Roll on Wednesday. Looks like it's in a proper comp as well for the BMW Golf Cup so individual stableford and there's a team event as well. Not too sure if it's off the whites or the yellows yet, should find out in due course.

Found out yesterday and also got to take two mates (spots already taken), so I#ll not be buying beers for a couple of weeks. I even spent most of last night watching the hole flyovers on their website, plotting my way round.

Excited is an understatement!!

Cheers Curls. My grandparents used to own a newsagent in Birkdale and I've always had a "one day I'll play there" longing.

I played it a couple of weeks ago on our boys trip to Southport. Fabulous course, easily the best of the 4 we played, but with the dry weather it was playing a little short. We managed to catch a bit of rain when we played it, typical in the middle of a heatwave, but still enjoyed it immensely.

I'm sure it won't disappoint, enjoy.
