Another newbie

Hi all,

Brief bit about myself.

Moved here to New Zealand 8 months ago and now it's heading into Autumn here starting to spend more time on the course bizarly seem to have more time now

Play off 9 and the ball and chain off 32 but she always seems to win when we play

Hope to give an insight to golf on the other side of the world to most of you .

Orginally from Shropshire and yes you're right when we were here on honeymoon in 2006 we played the other St Andrews for the princely sum of £7 and that included hire of clubs. This was due to good exchange rate, having said that our club membership is a lot cheaper than UK one and no joining fee, they also do a summer membership so you can move around clubs if you wish.

Equipment is a tad more pricey though so bought some Callaways before we emmigrated

My club have a reciprocal arrangement with Gulf Harbour G.C. in N.Z.

Lots of our juniors play there during our winter for a bit of training (Scottish Champs). You played it?

Thanks for all the welcomes and will start a new thread re golf down under.

Not played Gulf Harbour yet. Played Formosa in 2006 and have to say not impressed, poor reception, poor course stewarding and had to use "buggy" not a fan for those of us who dont need one if you know what i mean
