Well, I've finally done it. I wasn't sure but a trip up to the club confirmed it.
After several places in competitions and some modest cuts, it pretty much clicked for me on Sunday and 43 points was enough to take first place in the Centenary Cup. Replica trophy and name on a board stuff.
Went from 17 to 14 in a weekend too!
The challenge will be playing to 14 now as this is the lowest I've ever been.
Even with 43 points, I three putted twice and missed four birdie putts from within 8 feet so there's definitely room for improvement too.
Having reached the turn in 23 points, I knew I'd need at least 20 back to be in with a chance. Two pars set me on my way before I went on a run of bogeys. The 18th is my "bogey" hole. It's index 18 so no shot and a very tricky green so I knew I needed at least one more three pointer to give me a cushion.
A great up and down on the 17th got me the par I needed and 43 points was enough by one for my first solo win. I was really pleased that I didn't crumble and got the job done.
So lots of short game practice is the plan now to try and improve or, at the very least, hang on to my 14 handicap.
Just enjoying the moment now.
