A lot of people will consider the cost per game and every day closed just bumps this up.
A lot of players a couple of years ago when we had a wet winter and were on a fee plus £x per game downgraded to less fee more £ per game as they when they did the maths it made sense, although this meant less income for the courses.
Courses that were burnt and Mickey Mouse in the height of the playing season last summer and are now shut or restricted for swathes of the winter will have some members at the margins questioning value - more so than ever.

Ours will be going up about £50 to just under £1300 for full 7 day membership. Annoyingly, some of the committee were pushing for more of a raise because other local courses charge more and we are better than those courses. Not the best reason for a big hike, especially when other areas of the club (range and clubhouse) are well in profit.

A previous club of mine decided to start increasing subs using that argument. I think it's a stupid approach, cost the club members in that instance.

Well as of an hour ago I’m officially a member of a club again. Bargain of a deal they only charged me £129 for the next 3 months to take me to the end of their membership year. Just waiting to hear what the next years subs will be at the start of July but looks like it’ll be around £900 which will do nicely.

Feel good to be part of something again, now just need it to stop raining

Just had the email.

Full playing membership subs from 1st April £1,402

Course closed for third day in a row. I think there might be people considering their options.

Not me though.
They won't get rid of me that cheaply.

For full membership including affiliation fee's that is exactly the same as ours. This year I get a 5% loyalty discount taking it down to £1,333.

We've also been closed since Friday, and given the flooding we had on the course, I doubt it will be open before the middle of the week. Disappointing but with the warmer wetter winters we are now having, even with the mitigation plans we have I doubt it will improve greatly.

We've had alot of works done over the winter and members can see the improvements, so I doubt we will see a big exodus.

I pay £50 a month for a health club membership and its 9 hole course, which has been great for me as a beginner golfer. It has however been shut for over two months now due to being waterlogged.

I'm on a £200 winter membership elsewhere, but that course virtually never closes as it drains amazingly well. Good way of plugging the gap I guess.
