Sorry mono - not wanting to seem difficult and whilst its good to point out any potential issues with forum members I think this is probably something best dealt with privately. My advice would be to contact the moderators (not sure what come back they have) and then raise it with GM but I guess at the end of the day its a private undertaking between two parties so not sure what they can do for you
 
You could send him a horses head as a reminder ;) ;)

I'm sure there is good excuse for a slow refund or i'm being niave :D

Stuart to be honest not very much.
There was no for sale post and no public dialogue before hand between them. For all intents and purposes this seems to be a private sale. We can send Paul a pm/email but Mono needs to check and see what other detais he has before he can take it further.

Mono could you not claim off royal mail(assuming paul used them) for a full refund?
 
Mono how did you pay him ? Have you got any copies of the communication, emails etc ? How much money are we talking ? Depending on the above you may be able to take some action.

I think you're right to highlight it if you've (alledgedly) been shafted. Other forum members should know if there's a potential wrong 'un about.
 
Bought a scotty off the forum off paul2009 and sent him messages that it is not recieved and hell give me my money back and he still has not.

Why would he not send it........why would he offer to give money back if he did send it.........dont sound good.

I dont agrree with Homer on the private bit, we should all know about it and learn from this. I'm sure if there is a fault Paul will come back and tell us.
 
We should learn from it. I know some transactions have taken place with great faith in one another and hats off to you guys. But!!! Most of us havn't met each other and even then we mostly don't know each other so take care. Buyer beware and all that.
I would hope if Paul is still around that he does the decent thing but its a cautionary note to all.
 
One of the reasons I wouldnt buy off this site or more to the point off people I don't know personally, take Keef I might sell him a putter that works ;)

Mono, tbh you don't have a leg to stand on and to pay for something before you received it on an item said person got for free is a tad daft. Paul2009 is the only one who can make a claim via the postal service but if he is ignoring PM's and you have paid and no received I would think its looking a tad bleak.
 
Not strictly true to say he hasn't got a leg to stand on, a few things he could do but depends on what he's got in writing and how he paid. Maybe there should be a sticky in the for sale section with some advice on how to protect yourself as a buyer / seller.

Only ever had a good experiance buying of the members of the forum but has always been off the longer standing members.

Unfortunatly there is none of the protection that you get when buying from ebay etc, you have to rely on trust.

Not much GM can do, you can ban the guys from the site that are less than honest but that will not stop them using another IP.

Sorry Mono but looks like money down the drain and a harsh lesson learnt.
 
What do we know so far.
Not a great deal.
How long have you been waiting mono?
Is Paul away on his summer holidays?
Has your cheque been cashed?
Has Paypal taken your money
etc etc etc
I think we should wait until we know more about it.
Hopefully there is a simple explanation for this and all will end well. :)

Yes because I know the law protects me more than sending a stranger money on the trust they will send said item. That is the main problem with buying and selling on forums like this, you have no protection and most people are random strangers with exception.
