Angus golf trip

I used to play Camperdown many years ago when I first moved up here and although it was a great course with well laid out holes, it suffered from lack of funding as it was a local council run golf course. Funnily enough I bumped into an old friend at the range on Friday and he was telling me that the Council have now leased the course to a French concern, and it is in fantastic condition. I haven't any more information and can't find anything on the web, but at £10 a round it is well worth a go!

(I would even go as far as to say it is a better designed course than Downfield.)

Camperdown is a great layout and a tough track, and definitely a tougher course to score on than Downfield but it's condition has always let it down. I played it 2 or 3 times a few weeks back and the greens were terrible but maybe that's due to me playing downfield all the time. Fairways and semi is really good but once you get to the greens it's a let down. Both campy and cairdy had their opens in the past week so may be they were in better Nick.

Day3 of the trip, played caird Park and Forfar. Teamed up with some regulars and had a pleasurable walk with some fine banter. Today early on the course and then to camperdown for a 3 o'clock tee time. Raining at Carnoustie at 4am.

Well after the Open finished a trip to Blairgowrie for a round on the Lansdown course.
Another new course to ad to the score.
Thanks John for a nice introduction to the Lansdown, it was a pleasure to meet again and reminisce on courses and GM meets we had been at together.
The course was showing the effects of the drought, in places it showed the real state of the fairways"green not brown".
I could not read the greens at all they were in fantastic shape.
Once again thank you sir for the meet.
We do need to organise a Scottish meet again.

Was a pleasure Chris, good day for golf and the company wasn't half bad;).

Glad you enjoyed the course apart from the greens not being kind to you, don't think you holed anything of length lol.
