Anyone using an Android phone? Good or bad experiences?

Anyone switched from iPhone to Android, or vice versa and got any good\bad experiences to share?

Thinking of ditching my 3G, and not getting a 4 or waiting for the 5 but going to Android. Probably wait for the LG Optimus 2x!!!

Htc desire is very good, had one as a work phone and loved it, had to hand it back last week, and was a bit gutted, the gave me a samsung galaxy, and it is not as good imo, the interface is not as user friendly.
I had a 3gs, and it was good, not used the iphone 4, but if i had to chose between an android and an iphone, i would go for the android, not the lower end ones, like the htc wildfire, or lg optimus, but the desire is def worth a look, better phone, and lower priced than the apple products.

HTC's Sense additions make Android a lot more usable, I've had one for a while now, a friend got the Galaxy, I had a play with it for a few minutes and couldn't figure out how the hell to drive it, despite them supposedly being the same operating system.

The DesireHD is basically the same phone but with a bigger screen (more like the iPhone 4's size), feels a lot bulkier though, however if you're doing a lot of web browsing etc it's probably worth it.

You could have a look at the Nexus S. It is the newest and as it's google's own phone it already has 2.3 installed.

Had a look at one yesterday and you can get one free on contract with most companies for about £30-35.

2 of my kids use Samsung Galaxy Portal android phones and love em, my other lad has a iphone 3gs and has had 2 replacement screens already!!!

from usage there isnt a lot between android or apple but I hate itunes with a passion and find the android has more customization (yank spelling?)

HTC desire is a very nice phone, any of the latest android or apple incarnations are awesome :)

Just read the review for that on Tech Radar, not bad but there were a lot of instances of "Why can't Google's phone do this? HTC phones can!".

If you go Droid, get a HTC. The DesireHD is awesome. I have the (now very outdated) Hero and although it's sluggish sometimes, it's still a great phone.

I have a Galaxy S running 2.2 - changed from a Blackberry. Screen is clear, Web search very good, quicker than an Iphone 3. I don't think the mail interface is as good as a Blackberry. Two main issues: Battery life (keep a charger in the car - you'll need it); Samsung Kies PC sync tool is awful compared to Blackberry.

I have a desire and think that it is great. My wife has always had Iphones and swears by them but admits that there is not that much different now. App store is a bit better on the Iphone and the Itunes compatibility is spot on and the OS is probably slightly better on the Iphone. The widgets on the HTC make it easier to access basic info and you do not need an expensive Iphone contract or to pay for it.

I get my phone through my business and always go with BlackBerry as it best fits my needs.

I would like an iphone though as my wife has one and it is great for general use.

Interestingly, I read a report on mobile comms yesterday and it concluded that Google devices will outsell anything from Apple by 2013.
